Explore Our Wine Range
In many ways Winter is the best time of year to visit Rutherglen. Whilst overnight temperatures do get incredibly cold, those frosty starts invariably give way to clear, sunny days, and of course the regions strengths of full bodied red wines and fortifieds are custom made for cooler weather. Perhaps the greatest benefit is that it is comparatively quiet – no jostling for space at the Cellar Door, and often you will enjoy some one on one time with the winemaker or Cellar Door attendants. And the festivals, dinners and events don’t stop over the cooler months – visit our events page for more detail.
Meet Damien Cofield
Damien received a Wine Science degree at Charles Sturt University in 1999. He then set off to Chablis, near Paris to broaden his vineous horizons. Damien has been hands on at Cofield’s since then and has followed in his fathers footsteps in taking over the winery with Max’s retirement in 2007.
