Peter Birks has been our Senior Winemaker at Cofield since 2021, but his story with wine started long before that. Growing up with a winemaker for a Dad, spending part of his childhood in Portugal, then later studying and working vintages across Australia, Portugal and Italy, Pete has certainly taken the long way to Rutherglen! These days, he loves the mix of creativity and problem solving that comes with winemaking – and the satisfaction of eventually being able to share what he’s made with all of you.
