Description

The 2026 Rosé is a delicate and elegant expression from our Quartz Vein vineyard, showcasing lifted aromas of wild strawberry, white cherry and rose petal, layered with subtle hints of citrus blossom and watermelon rind. A higher proportion of Sangiovese was used in this vintage, reversing the traditional blend ratio and allowing the Italian variety to take the lead, resulting in a style that is slightly more floral and refined than previous releases.

On the palate, the wine is fresh, finely textured and beautifully restrained, with crisp acidity driving a dry, refreshing finish. Estate grown fruit was gently pressed and cool fermented to preserve purity and aromatic detail, creating a Rosé that is best enjoyed young and vibrant, though it will continue to drink well over the next 2–4 years.

A rosé that blends a Rutherglen rising star (sangiovese) with a regional staple (shiraz), and the result is a zingy, textural delight. Plenty of cherry fruits on show: raspberries, wild, earthy strawberries, some musky florals and a light, fresh spice. All combine and synchronise on the palate, offering crisp, dry refreshment and the potential for a food match. Either will be successful. ~ Jeni Port

Made from estate grown fruit from our Quartz Vein vineyard, gently pressed to tank for a slow, cool fermentation to preserve aromatics. A larger proportion of Sangiovese was used in this vintage than usual, flipping the 60:40 ratio in favour of the Italian variety and allowing a smaller contribution from Shiraz. The style, although very similar to previous vintages, is slightly more delicate and floral as a result.
