Description
Cofield Durif is a full-bodied wine that showcases the bold, powerful character of this iconic Rutherglen variety. Bursting with aromas of blackberry, amaro herbs, and dark chocolate orange, it delivers a soft, fruit-driven mid-palate and a fine, lingering tannin finish. Carefully crafted through separate fermentation and precise blending, the wine achieves a harmonious balance while fully expressing the intensity and varietal purity of Durif.
Over the years, we have refined the oak profile, gradually increasing the use of French oak—50% two-year-old and 25% one-year-old—to complement the traditional American oak and create a more elegant style. The result is a rich, intense wine with flavors of rhubarb and blackberry, savoury spice, pepper, and dark chocolate oak, supported by firm yet integrated tannins and a long, persistent finish that truly embodies the character of Durif.
