We recently welcomed our new powerhouse French duo to Quartz; Executive Chef, Philippe Desrettes, and his partner Karine Saille, our Front of House Manager.

At 18 years of age, Philippe completed his Chef apprenticeship in a star Michelin Hotel Restaurant in Brittany where he met Karine who was studying Tourism at the time.

After many years working around Europe, Queensland and Victoria in various venues they decided to relocated to Rutherglen to enjoy a slower lifestyle. 

The move has allowed them to spend more time with their beloved German Shepherd "T-Bone", and Philippe can't wait to go fishing on the Murray River.

As a duo Philippe and Karine have always embraced any business like it was their own, with a very hands on approach.

They aim to use as much local produces as possible and welcome you to "Quartz Cuisine at Cofield"
